This course helps you manage your own personal and professional development in a structured way that also supports the performance of your team. You will carry out the development activities identified in a Personal and Professional Development Plan (PPDP), turn the PPDP into practical action, deliver development to time and standard, and monitor your progress using appropriate PPDP tracking tools. You will also learn to compare completed activities against planned objectives, identify progress, completion status and deviations, and reflect on what the evidence shows about how your development improves your performance in a team leader role. You will evaluate the impact of your development by identifying strengths gained and areas that still require improvement, then convert evaluation into new personal and professional development goals. Finally, you will align fresh, realistic goals with future team objectives, using reflective practice and evidence from your own progress to make informed decisions about next steps, maintain motivation and support ongoing growth.

Learning outcomes

By completing this package, learners can:

Implement the development activities identified in the Personal and Professional Development Plan (PPDP) within agreed timescales and to the required standard.
Demonstrate the use of appropriate tools and methods to record progress against the Personal and Professional Development Plan (PPDP).
Monitor and compare completed development activities against planned objectives to identify progress, completion status and any deviations.
Analyse evidence from development activities to determine how they have improved own performance in the team leader role.
Evaluate the impact of development activities on team leader effectiveness, including strengths gained and areas requiring further improvement.
Formulate new personal and professional development goals based on the outcomes of the evaluation and align them with future team objectives.
